How to reach
BY BUS
There are many direct links between Matera and the most important Italian cities.
The bus company Marino links Matera to and from Lombardy, Marche, Tuscany, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Umbria, Campania and Friuli, as well as to and from many other foreign cities.
The bus company Marozzi links Matera to and from Rome, Florence, Pisa and Siena.
The bus company Petruzzi and Liscio also link Matera to and from other Italian cities

BY PLANE
The nearest airport is the one in Palese-Bari, only about 60 Km from Matera offering flights to the most important Italian and European cities. The most important Rent – a – Car companies are situated within the airport. There is also a shuttle service at the cost of 4 euros per destination linking the airport in Bari to Matera.
There is also a taxi service that you can contact for special needs or special hours.

From Florence – Rome – Naples – Taranto to the Central Station in Bari (The Adriatic line from Milano – Bologna – Rimini – Ancona – Pescara – Lecce).

All trains and buses stop in Piazza Matteotti, where the central railway station is situated.
ON FOOT
If you reach Matera by bus or by train you will arrive in Piazza Matteotti, at the central railway station. It is just a few minutes’ walk to “DOMUS ROMA”.
